Jan Boex (1993) is a visual artist from Halle who captures the magic of light and darkness in intriguing, almost cinematic drawings. Specializing in drawing, he refined his skills through the fine art program at the Kunstacademie in Halle. His work reveals the beauty of abandoned spaces, quiet portraits, and landscapes that balance between presence and emptiness. Inspired by overlooked corners of the world and by objects that have lost their original function, Boex explores how we, and sometimes our absence, shape the meaning of a place.

With a keen eye for emotion and atmosphere, he works primarily with charcoal and pencil to expose the tension between nature and technology, beauty and decay. In his creative process, memories, dreams, and photographed moments are interwoven into layered compositions that unfold organically. The result is a universe that invites the viewer to pause, to feel, and to look again.
